Gonzaga University/University of Washington Health Sciences Building

KWS Products Used

The University of Washington School of Medicine and Gonzaga University Regional Health Partnership have joined forces to develop the new Health Partnership Building in Spokane, Washington: a new 109,000 square foot, four-story building located along the Spokane River just south of Gonzaga’s existing campus. The facility will be the new home to UW Spokane Medical School, UW Medex Northwest Physician Assistant, and Gonzaga’s Department of Human Physiology programs as well as future medical research tenants on the upper floor.

As a high profile collaborative project at the gateway to the Gonzaga campus, the center will be home to students and faculty from both Universities. Together they will have integrated opportunities for learning and teaching in classrooms, anatomy labs, and teaching labs, molecular and wet labs as well as shared research at the adjacent innovation center in the SIERR.

“There were robust structural engineering and energy requirements for the cladding that Knight Wall products are very well suited for,” Icon Corporation project manager Janden Sullivan said. “As well, Icon Corporation deemed the MFI S Series as having adaptability to suit some of the many different panel patterns over the course of the building, and we were able to develop rainscreen clip layouts and patterns that streamlined the procurement process and installation labor. We are very happy with the decision to use the Knight Wall MFI S Series.

This project is one of the largest ACM projects installed by Icon Corporation to date, employing roughly 28,000 sf of ACM and 800 sf of terra cotta panels.
